Rainmakers Appoints Dr. Adrienne Mims as Chief Medical Officer
New CMO provides critical combination of clinical and administrative healthcare expertise to growing small business.
Ellicott City, MD – Rainmakers Strategic Solutions (Rainmakers) announced today that it has appointed Dr. Adrienne Mims, MD, MPH, FAAFP, AGSF, to the position of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the company. Dr. Mims brings her extensive experience and unique expertise to Rainmakers, helping to expand Rainmakers’ excellent reputation for health care industry thought leadership and leadership in developing and executing key health care quality improvement initiatives and contracts.
For Dr. Mims, the medical profession is a calling as much as it is a career. Her compassion and overwhelming desire to ease the suffering of those with medical issues started early in her life. As a child living in Washington, D.C., she would often accompany her grandmother to the only doctor’s office in their neighborhood. When she was a young woman, and applying for college, tragedy struck – her beloved grandmother died of cervical cancer. “She only ever took a pain reliever and never once had a pap smear,” Mims recalled in a recent interview. “It was treatable.”
About Dr. Adrienne Mims
After earning her medical degree, from Stanford University School of Medicine, she furthered enhanced her expertise with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the UCLA School of Public Health. Dr. Mims possesses more than 30 years’ clinical practice experience, sharing her healing skills for the benefit of Medicare recipients in the hospital, office, nursing home, hospice, and home. To put it plainly, everyone who has ever been under the care of Dr. Mims has benefited from the solace of her boundless empathy.
Dr. Mims brings her unique compassion, experience and indefatigable energy to our company in her role as Rainmakers’ CMO. A clinical epidemiologist, she brings Rainmakers more than 25 years of administrative experience in using quality performance metrics to guide changes in clinical processes, clinician and patient education and organizational delivery system redesign in small clinical practices, large disease management, Medicare Advantage, and managed care organizations.
Dr. Mims brings Rainmakers her extensive clinical practice experience in value-based care for adults and seniors through her long tenure with Kaiser Permanente. More recently, she shared her expertise with JenCare Senior Medical Center, a healthcare system focusing on personalized quality care for vulnerable residents of Georgia. Dr. Mims was the founding medical director of Georgia Medicaid Management Program, overseeing case and disease management services to 500,000 aged, blind, and disabled Medicaid recipients.
Among her many impressive accomplishments, Dr. Mims can count her tenure as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Alliant Health Solutions, a Quality Innovation Network—Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) and the former president of the American Health Quality Association, the trade association for QIN-QIOs. She has also served on the boards of the American Geriatric Society; the Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement ® (PCPI); the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians; Georgia Alzheimer’s Association; Georgia Physician Order for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST) Collaborative; Georgia Alzheimer’s and Related Dementia Task Force, Georgia Gerontological Society; and the Atlanta AAA Advisory Committee.
In 2018, Dr. Mims was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to the Georgia Council on Aging to advocate on behalf of aging Georgians as an advisor to the Governor, General Assembly, and Georgia State Department of Human Services.
