Rainmakers Strategic Solutions, a fast-growing woman-owned small business provides management consulting services for federal government clients.  Many of Rainmakers’ contracts support federal health care programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.  A significant number of our contracts involve updating publicly available documents for digital and print publication in response to policy and health care benefit changes.  We pride ourselves on upholding high standards for delivering quality products and services under aggressive timelines.

As a Data Abstractor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the precise and efficient abstraction of critical data from medical records.

Key Duties/Responsibilities of the Data Abstractor

  • Examine extensive datasets to identify patterns, trends, anomalies, and relevant insights.
  • Extract information from diverse sources, including databases, spreadsheets,
  • Ensure data accuracy by identifying and rectifying potential inaccuracies when necessary.
  • Standardizing data formats and structures to facilitate uniform reporting and analysis.
  • Creating and maintaining audit trails to track data changes and ensure transparency and accountability in data management.
  • Preparing and presenting data reports for internal and external reports, quality reports, and performance indicators

Perform additional responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor as required for efficient operation.


  • Associates Degree Preferred


  • 2 years of experience working with medical records and data abstraction 


  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Software Proficiency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an aptitude to learn new software and systems.



Environment and Cognitive/Physical Demands

  • Teleworking, virtual work environment
  • Ability to read, keyboard, reason, communicate effectively and problem solve
  • Requires prolonged sitting and telephone use
  • Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers and printers
  • Infrequent lifting to 15 pounds
  • Infrequent stooping
  • Periodic travel
