Job Summary:

The Senior Data Analyst maintains and enhances Tableau reporting from metadata that is maintained in the SQL Workbench. The scripts are written in Python and the database is hosted on the CMS AWS cloud.  The Senior Data Analyst will:

  • Access and analyze Encounter data from the Integrated Data Repository (IDR Teradata database)
  • Create/maintain Tableau interfaces
  • Design and produce Tableau reports
  • Design and produce ad hoc analytical reports per CMS request
  • Data Visualization and Health Data Analysis
  • Other analytical tasks as required

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Experience with data visualization tool – Tableau
  • 5+ years of Direct experience working on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) analytics platform
  • 5+ years of Experience in database technology tools – Teradata, Teradata SQL
  • 5+ years of Experience working with UNIX, Python and shell scripting
  • 5+ years of Experience in Analyzing large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
  • 5+ years of Experience in the ability to analyze, model and interpret data.
  • MS Office Suite

Healthcare Analytical Competencies:

  • 3+ years of Experience in the ability to analyze CMS IDR data
  • 3+ Years of experience in analyzing Medicare/Medicaid Encounter Data
  • 5+ years of Experience to Develop solutions that visualize data and allow customer to interact using data visualization software solution – Tableau

Compliance:

  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance
  • HIPAA related knowledge and adherence

General Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required (Mathematics/Statistics/Data Analytics/Healthcare or related field)
  • Experience with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS)
  • Proactively play an analytical role within the project for the purpose of identifying trends and evaluating the success of the MMP with available data
  • Ability to develop models and reports, sharing observations and recommendations with the team and CMS stakeholders for further consideration
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and complete deadlines
  • Ability to build effective working relationships
  • Not sanctioned or excluded from government programs by the Office of Inspector General (OIG)
