3 Women Leaders Who Are Transforming Health Care

Meet the leaders whose passion for better health outcomes and commitment to excellence have driven high-impact in health care

As a woman-owned business and with nearly 80% of women in leadership, we are no strangers to the importance of Women’s History Month and celebrating remarkable women amplifying the “voice of the patient” and training stakeholders at all levels of the health care ecosystem.

Leading with Purpose

Headshot of Denise RaineyDenise Rainey, President and CEO of Rainmakers brings a strong passion for delivering value-added and quality services. She started the company in 2008 with the hope of applying private sector best practices to assist federal client partners to improve health outcomes and reduce costs in government health care programs. Her dedication to delivering on promises and adopting innovative solutions reflects her commitment to improving health care services. That’s why Denise made the cornerstones of the company: excellence, diversity, passion, and knowledge.

Advocating for Patient-Centered Care

Headshot of Dr. Adrienne MimsDr. Adrienne Mims, Chief Medical Officer, knew from an early age that she wanted to make a difference in the quality of care for patients. Her personal experiences helped shape her commitment to patient advocacy and quality care and inclusion. She has spent her entire career addressing critical health issues and volunteers her time to participate in numerous health care organizations and boards in geriatrics such as the RRF Foundation For Aging, NCQA, and the National Alzheimer’s Council for Research, Care and Service. She focuses on improving dementia care, health care quality measures and quality improvement. She was recently awarded the Healthcare Leadership award from Heal 2.0 for her work to amplify the voice of the patient and for her contributions as a health care thought leader.

Innovating Long-Term Care

Headshot of Dr. Swati GuarDr. Swati Gaur, Associate Chief Medical Officer, continues to make remarkable impacts on the health care  community, particularly in long-term care and infectious disease prevention. She was the Chair of Infection advisory committee of the Post Acute Long-Term Care Medical Association during the pandemic and established a COVID task force to create and provide guidance to long-term care facilities across the country. She also collaborated with federal entities to enhance COVID vaccinations and therapeutics use nationwide. Dr. Gaur plays an instrumental role to advise and assist nursing homes that provide care to residents with serious mental illness, substance use disorder and co-occurring illnesses. She received a service award for her accomplishments during COVID and was awarded the Medical Director of the Year in 2022.

These three women, Denise Rainey, Dr. Mims, and Dr. Gaur inspire us with their leadership and showcase just how their contributions are influencing the health care landscape now and for future generations to come.
